Acoustics is a highly technical field, little known to the general public. LASA, an engineering firm specialising in acoustics and vibration since 1975, wanted to make it more visible and more accessible. I designed an animated greeting card with sound: a miniature town hit by noise, drawn in onomatopoeia, where a noisy neighbourhood and a calm place can sit side by side thanks to good acoustics. The scenes are inspired by the lab’s real case studies. The soundtrack is binaural: heard through headphones, it makes you feel as if you are standing in the middle of the town, with sounds coming from all around you.
